Future of Ireland's National Parks - Public Consultation National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS)

Closing Date: 5pm, Friday 28th February 2025

The National Parks and Wildlife Service has launched a comprehensive public consultation on the future of Ireland's eight National Parks. This initiative seeks to balance growing visitor numbers with conservation commitments across all parks: Killarney, Páirc Náisiúnta na Mara, Wild Nephin, Connemara, Burren, Glenveagh, Wicklow Mountains, and Brú na Bóinne.

The consultation focuses on key areas including visitor services, conservation initiatives, infrastructure, legislation, and stakeholder engagement. This feedback will inform future policy decisions affecting these vital natural and cultural heritage sites.

Participants can complete the survey in either Irish or English through the 'Your Parks, Your Say' online portal. Those requiring assistance or hard-copy forms can contact consultation@npws.gov.ie

The Public Consultation Institute of Ireland (PCII) is committed to engaging citizens and empowering communities through the use of emerging technologies, which are transforming how the Government and citizens communicate and interact. PCII's mission is to bring more people into the public participatory process. Not only will this expand informed public engagement, early studies suggest that it is likely to enhance the diversity and quality of participation.
