Open public consultation: Revival at the Courthouse Project, Letterkenny

TAKE NOTICE that Donegal County Council ("the Council") proposes to carry out the development specified in paragraph (b) below and in relation thereto:
(a) Location of the Development
The proposed development is located at Justice Walsh Road/Ramelton Road, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, in the townland of Letterkenny, within the Letterkenny & Milford Municipal District. A site location map is available in the plans and particulars.
(b) Nature and Extent of the Proposed Development
The proposed development involves the change of use, extension, and modification of the protected structure, Letterkenny Courthouse (Ref. RPS 40502279) and its attendant lands. The objective is to provide flexible, multi-functional space for the following purposes:
Tourist/visitor attraction and integrated Tourist Information Point
Interpretation, exhibitions, conferences, education & learning
Civic, cultural, community use and social gatherings and events
Café
Retail/gift-shop
Ancillary offices, storage, and public conveniences
The development will also include all associated ancillary works such as site drainage, utilities, connection to the public water supply, enhancements to the public realm and lighting, landscaping, signage, public art, and connection to the public sewerage network.
(c) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)
The proposed development is sub-threshold for the purposes of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) per Article 92 of the Regulations. Based on a preliminary examination, the Council has concluded that there is no real likelihood of significant environmental effects. A copy of this conclusion, along with the Preliminary Examination, will be available for inspection or purchase alongside the documents referred to in paragraph (e) below.
However, should any person believe that the development would have significant environmental effects, they may apply to An Bord Pleanála (64 Marlborough Street, Rotunda, Dublin 1, D01 V902) for a screening determination.
(d) Appropriate Assessment (AA)
The Council carried out a screening for Appropriate Assessment (AA) and determined that the proposed development would not have a significant effect on a European site. The determination, including reasons and considerations, will be available for inspection or purchase along with the documents referred to in paragraph (e) below.
If any person believes that the development would have a significant effect on a European Site, they may apply to An Bord Pleanála for a determination.
(e) Plans and Particulars of the Proposed Development
The plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase at the following locations:
