2024/25 Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) - Call for Expressions of Interest
Background:
Funding scheme for rural outdoor recreational infrastructure
Supports development of natural amenities including:
Mountains and upland areas
Lakes, rivers, and beaches
Blue-ways and forest walks
Bogs and natural trails
Benefits both local communities and tourism sector
Up to 90% funding provided per project (10% match funding required)
Available Measures:
Measure 2 - Medium Scale Projects:
Maximum grant: €200,000
Scope: Repair/upgrade and new trail/amenity development
Application window: 27th January - 3rd March 2025, 12pm
Suitable for medium-scale infrastructure improvements
Measure 3 - Large Scale Strategic Projects:
Maximum grant: €500,000
Scope: Strategic repair/upgrade and new trail development
Application window: 27th January - 3rd March 2025, 12pm
Focused on significant infrastructure initiatives
Important Notes:
Expression of Interest submission dates differ by measure
Local submission deadlines differ from Department deadlines
Council review required before Department submission
Match funding of 10% must be secured by applicant
