Your Opportunity to Shape the Future of Housing in Ireland

The Housing Commission is urging people to participate in a public consultation aimed at informing their long-term housing policy post 2030. The consultation is seeking specific views on a range of areas including maintaining a sustainable housing supply, improving the affordability of housing, and regulating social housing.

The Housing Commission is hoping to gain insights from a broad range of individuals and groups to help inform their decision-making process. They are encouraging everyone to have their say and provide feedback on one, some or all of the areas under consideration, depending on their preference. The consultation will run from Tuesday 21 March 2023 until Tuesday 18 April 2023, and all responses will remain completely confidential. Consultation responses will not be linked back to any individual, so participants can feel confident in providing their honest opinions.

The consultation is an opportunity for people to voice their opinions on the important issues surrounding housing in their communities. It is a chance to have their views heard and to help shape the future of housing policy in Ireland.

The Housing Commission is keen to stress that the consultation is not just for experts or those with a vested interest in housing policy. They want to hear from anyone who has an opinion on how to improve the cost, quality, and availability of housing in Ireland.

Participating in the consultation is easy and can be completed online. Depending on your responses, the consultation should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The Housing Commission is encouraging everyone to take part in the consultation before the deadline of Tuesday 18 April 2023. They have made it clear that any submissions received after this date may not be considered.

By participating in the consultation, individuals can help shape the future of housing policy in Ireland and make a difference to their communities. So, if you have an opinion on housing issues, make sure to have your say and take part in the consultation today.

The consultation period is running from Tuesday, 21 March until Tuesday, 18 April 2023. The questionnaire can be accessed at www.gov.ie/HousingConsultation.
