National Transport Authority
Closing Date: 5pm, Monday 6th January 2025
The National Transport Authority has launched a public consultation on proposed improvements to bus services connecting Wexford and Gorey. These enhancements are part of the broader Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan and aim to strengthen public transport connectivity in the region.
The proposed improvements include:
Increased service frequency along the corridor
Enhanced interchange opportunities with existing regional and local services at both Wexford and Gorey Train Stations
Introduction of new services to currently unserved areas
Integration with TFI Go app for journey planning
Participation in the Leap Card scheme and acceptance of Free Travel Passes
The NTA seeks feedback from local residents and businesses to ensure the proposed enhancements align with community needs. All interested parties are encouraged to review the detailed proposals and submit their feedback via the consultation portal at https://consult.nationaltransport.ie/en
These improvements form part of the national Connecting Ireland Rural Mobility Plan, which aims to strengthen rural public transport networks in alignment with Project Ireland 2040 and the Climate Action Plan.
NTA Chief Executive Anne Graham emphasised the importance of public participation, stating: "As we look to enhance services along the Wexford – Gorey bus corridor, your feedback is key in ensuring the improvements meet the needs of your community. I encourage all to have their say as we work to provide more reliable, accessible public transport for all."
