Cork Docklands to City Centre Road Network Improvement Scheme - Part 8 Planning
Cork City Council
Closing Date: 4pm, Monday 10th March 2025
Cork City Council has initiated a Part 8 planning process for significant improvements to the road network connecting the South Docklands to the City Centre. The scheme aims to enhance accessibility, safety, and capacity across all transport modes, with an emphasis on sustainable travel options.
Key proposals include new bus lanes, a two-way cycle track, junction improvements, public realm enhancements, and upgraded pedestrian facilities. The plan will reconfigure several key junctions, including the replacement of the Victoria Road/Centre Park Road roundabout with a signal-controlled junction, and modify access to Kennedy Quay.
Plans can be viewed online at https://consult.corkcity.ie/en or at Cork City Hall's Reception Desk until February 21st, 2025. Environmental screenings have determined that neither an Environmental Impact Assessment nor an Appropriate Assessment is required.
Submissions can be made in writing to the Senior Engineer, Infrastructure Development at City Hall, or electronically through the consultation portal. All submissions will form part of the statutory report and may appear in the public domain.
