Kinsale Active Travel Project - Public Consultation Cork County Council

Cork County Council has initiated a Part 8 planning process for the Kinsale Active Travel Project, which aims to enhance sustainable transport infrastructure across multiple locations in Kinsale including Compass Quay, Ballynacubby relief road, Abbeylands, Bandon Road, Cappagh Road, and Roseabbey Park.
The proposed development includes alterations to existing roadways, new footpaths and shared active travel paths, toucan crossings, sustainable drainage measures, public lighting improvements, and associated landscaping works. The project spans several townlands including Ballinacubby, Commoge, Abbey-Lands, Cappagh, Commons, Blackhorsefield and Rathbeg.
Plans can be viewed at the Planning Counter in County Hall, Cork and at the Cork County Council Area Office in Kinsale. Documents are also available for purchase at €15 per set. Environmental screening has determined that neither an Environmental Impact Assessment nor a full Appropriate Assessment is required.
Submissions can be made through the online portal or in writing to the Senior Engineer, Sustainable Travel Unit at County Hall, Cork, clearly marked 'Part 8 – Kinsale Active Travel Project'.
